A search improvement for Firefox, which is no related to Google is
called Inquisitor and is actually a take off on the Inquisitor for
Safari. Finally it has arrived for Firefox.
After you have installed it, it looks like this on the Add-ons window within Firefox.
This guesses what you are looking for an gives you several options.
This is very cool and a real speed enhancer on searches. As you can see, it also shows you when you last visited the site as long as it was recent. Kudos to the team that finally brought the Inquisitor to Firefox.
